CTI at VCU
Center on Transition Innovations (CTI) at VCU is part of the School of Education and funded by the Virginia Department of Education. The center specializes in providing information and training resources to the state’s school divisions, regions, parents, teachers, and admin to help students with disabilities become independent, competitively employed, and/or receive a higher education.
Graphic Design for digital + print
I worked with experts in the field of special education and transition. They provide me the content and research, and I turn that into design that is intuitive for stakeholders to follow. All graphic design projects were created with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, then remediated for accessibility in Adobe Acrobat.
Vids for ACE-IT in College
ACE-IT in College provide students with disabilities an opportunity to go to college, take college courses, and get the college experience like any other student on campus. I created a fundraiser video for the program which highlighted a former ACE-IT student and what it meant for her.
Website Redesign
My first major project when I got hired was redesigning CTI’s website. The process began with auditing the entire website and its content. We had to syphon out content that was outdated. I then had to determine how the content should be organized within the website and how the user would navigate it easily. The 2nd half of the process is conceptualizing the wireframe, UI design, mock-up, then prototype before the development.

Visual Identity
CTI didn’t have an established visual identity across their projects, and other media formats. I saw it as a problem that didn’t help gain recognition of what/who the center is or does. I took it upon myself to create a visual identity for everyone to understand and recognize out in the field.
